"Once i believed in my father and the world had seemed small and old. Now he was gone and I wasn't afraid to love him anymore. And the world seemed limitless."
- Paul Theroux, Mosquito Coast Use all or part of the provided text in a piece of imaginative writing that reflects your understanding of changing realities in Navigating the Global. Thoughts? Ideas? Reactions? There was no going back. A decision had to be made.
Use these sentences as the beginning of a piece of creative writing which demonstrates an understanding of Navigating the Global. Though you must use the sentences, I find this one much easier to adapt to any story as it doesn't dictate a situation or character. On the whole, not too bad! What are your thoughts? :) In too many instances, Hilary reflected, the march to globalisation has also meant marginalisation for some. And that must change.
Write and imaginative response in which you embed this quotation and provide insight into the tension between the empowered and the disempowered. Won't lie, this one threw me a bit! Getting a question like this really reinforces the way in which you have to make sure your imaginative idea is really flexible and able to adapt to 'embed' the quotation, rather than just throwing it in at the start or end of the piece. Share your thoughts! Would you die if you saw this in the HSC?? Compose a piece of imaginative writing which depicts the uncertainties of navigation in a global world.
Starting broad here with this one. Feel free to comment starting points, responses and thoughts! :) |
